That's the sort of flower bed to have - no room for weeds!

The hedge is a good shelter for the plants Brian.
Brian Walbey: The hedge also keeps one part of the garden from the other.
Gardens bring cheer so I look forward to this week.

I love walled gardens and don't know this one
Brian Walbey: This is in the grounds of Elvaston Castle, not far from derby, I posted a short series from there quite a long time ago.
I imagine this is the English garden archetype
Brian Walbey: It certainly is/was for stately homes and big houses.
